Beef Barley Soup

1 to 2 soup bones
1 cup barley
1/2 cup rice
1 cup diced carrots
1 small onion, chopped
1 can tomato with juice and water to cover barley
1 to 2 tablespoons salt
Tomato juice (optional)

Put all ingredients in crockpot, adding liquids last. Cover and cook on LOW for about 8 hours.
